The primary purpose of the Center for Immigration and Citizenship Legal Assistance of Catholic Charities is to keep families together and to reunite those currently separated due to the immigration law. The Immigration Department of Catholic Charities is the primary Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) accredited legal service in the State of New Mexico. Catholic Charities has been designated by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) since 1979 to counsel legal permanent residents and undocumented individuals in their rights and responsibilities regarding their immigration status in the United States of America.
