The 2010 NM State legislature narrowed the definition of "household member" in the Crimes Against Family Members Act and Family Violence Protection Act in order to focus on those populations the law was intended to address. In this training, Sharon Pino of the New Mexico Attorney General's Office describes the statutory changes and reasons for them.

A look at domestic violence policing in three cities: Duluth, Baltimore, MD, and New York. The film explores the origins of the mandatory arrest policy in Duluth, the evolution of the "Duluth Model," and best practices as currently practiced on the streets. In Baltimore, we profile the new Family Crimes Unit, a detective unit dedicated to domestic violence crime. And in New York, we get an inside look at the 46th Precinct in the Bronx, New York's busiest domestic violence precinct.
